How Concrete Curbing Works in Duluth, From Bed Layout to Final Cure
Every curbing job covers bed layout, on-site extrusion, control cuts, and color or stamp pattern selection.
ESTIMATE
Once scheduled for an estimate, we’ll go out to your location, take measurements, and go through various design choices with you. This ensures that we give the best look and use the most suitable material to meet your curbing needs.
SECOND MEETING
Before we start the job, we’ll meet with you one more time to go over the layout of the curb. This way, we’re all aligned and you’re assured you get the curb that satisfies you after we’re done.
LAYOUT
We’ll mark the location set for the curb with spray paint so you can see the layout with your own eyes. Once we arrive at your location, we’ll go over the layout and decisions made once more with you in case there are last-minute changes.
PREP WORK
We set up our equipment while making minimal mess of your yard. The only thing that’ll go through your yard is our wheelbarrow. We’ll also be hooking up our hose to your home’s water supply so we can mix our materials.
TRENCHING
Using our bed edger, we will follow the spray painted area and cut through the grass so we can install your curb properly. The soil is ground up and pulverized, making it great soil that can be reused by you or disposed of by us.
MIXING & EXTRUDING
We create the strongest blend of curbing mix possible. We use our wheelbarrow to transfer the mix to our curb machine where the cement is given it’s final look. We’ll also be using cable reinforcement through the center of the curb.
FINISHING
Having a strong finish on your curb is crucial for it’s long-term durability. We make sure your curb is free of any voids as we smooth it out and give it a professional look. We then trowel your landscape edging to perfection.
STAMPING & CONTROL JOINTS
Choose from a variety of stamps that suits your house and landscaping. Once stamped, we cut your curb in the correct spots to prevent cracking. Expansion joints are around 2 ft. apart and allow your curb to survive any freeze-thaw cycle.
SEALING
Sealing protects your curb for the sun’s UV rays and discoloration. Sealing should be done every two years to maintain your curb. Homeowners can do this as we’ll also give you our list of recommended sealers once we’re done. How It Works
1. Form Submission
Tell us about the space, approximate size, and condition of the concrete. Paul or Chad will follow up to answer questions and arrange an on-site estimate when needed.
2. Customize Project
Tell us how you use the space and the look you have in mind. We will help you choose a coating system and flake blend that fit the project.
3. Final Enjoyment
Most residential projects are completed in as little as one day. Timing depends on the concrete, repairs, weather, and site conditions.
